Last night, Kanye West announced via Twitter that he would be changing the title of his album from “Swish” to “Waves”. Let’s just say Wiz Khalifa is not here for it. Offended, and ready to educate everyone, Wiz took to Twitter less than an hour after Yeezy’s initial tweet to breakdown the significance behind the name. Wiz pointed out that imprisoned Harlem rapper Max B popularized the “wave movement” in the early-mid 2000’s with his melodic rapping style.

Before flooding his timeline with a slew of video’s of Max B’s work, Wiz tweeted, “Please don’t take the wave. Max B is the wavy one. He created the wave. There is no wave without him. Im a wavy baby for sure and I’m not having it. He’s the reason why I sing on all my songs. That’s the wave. If theres nothing with that sound ITS NOT WAVY.”

Before the night was over, Ye responded back to the Pittsburgh rapper, but not how I expected him to. Ye swallowed his pride for once and acknowledged Wiz’s philosophy tweeting, “All respect to Andre Harrel and Max B #Waves”. Still feeling some type of way, Wiz replied with, “Yea aight”. Do you agree with Wiz?

Max B is currently serving a 75-year prison sentence for armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and murder.
