Looking for another way to support the Hip Hop culture? Well Sprite has your back! Throughout the entire summer you can purchase Sprite’s limited edition “Obey Your Verse” cans that will feature lyrics from some of Hip Hop’s MVP’s. Each can will feature one of the sixteen lyrics included in the campaign from Nas, Notorious B.I.G., Drake, and Rakim.
Kimberly Paige, the vice president of Sprite Brands and Flavors, Coca Cola North America stated in a press release, “Sprite recognized and respected the power of Hip Hop early, and it became part of the brand’s essence decades ago. By honoring and recognizing great lyricism from some of the genre’s biggest icons on our product packaging, we’re demonstrating how Sprite continues to support Hip Hop artists that remain true to themselves.”
Nas also expressed his excitement about his work being featured in the campaign stating, “Legacy means everything to me. When I wrote these lyrics, I never imagined my fans would someday have the opportunity to enjoy a can of Sprite and experience my art in a totally original way.”
