On Friday, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, 25, the man who shot up Lil Wayne’s tour bus back in April, plead guilty to 6 of the 27 counts related to the shooting. All six counts were gang-related. Initially, Winfrey, who is also known as PeeWee Roscoe, was indicted on charges including aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon and criminal gang activity.

Two of Lil Wayne’s tour buses were traveling on I-285 near I-75 on April 26 following a performance at Atlanta’s Compound nightclub when Winfrey opened fire on them. There were a dozen of people traveling between the two buses. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. It is unknown if Lil Wayne was traveling on one of the buses.

During the time of the shooting, it was discovered that Winfrey was working as Young Thug’s tour manager. The original indictment also has Birdman listed as one of Winfrey’s associates. After the shooting occurred, Winfrey made a phone call to a cell phone owned by Birdman. However, neither Young Thug or Birdman were charged as co-conspirators, and denied any involvement in the incident. Allegedly, Winfrey committed the crime to gain “street cred” with Young Thug and Birdman.

Winfrey was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison and 10 years on probation.
