A judge has ordered Burberry Perry to officially change his name.
A little over a month ago, the luxury apparel line, Burberry, slapped Burberry Perry with a lawsuit. The company is upset that the 19 year old producer used their company’s name and signature logo to market his himself and his brand.
Burberry sent Burberry Perry numerous cease and desist letters, Perry disregarded them all. A few days after making headlines, the pressure proved to be too much for Perry, who bowed down and changed his name to The Good Perry.
Perry may have changed his stage name, but his case isn’t over just yet. In court, Burberry told the judge it believed it’s “brand was being damaged”, so the judge granted a preliminary injunction. The injunction means that Perry has to remove “Burberry” from his social media accounts and mentions of “Burberry Perry” from his tracks. For the time being, Perry still has Burberry Perry listed on his Instagram page.
