Detroit rap icon Eminem, 42, has become the first artist to have two digital singles sell over 10 million copies. The “My Name Is” rapper was awarded with a diamond certification for his single “Not Afraid” from the Recording Industry Association of America. His collaboration with Barbadian beauty Rihanna, “Love The Way You Lie” was also previously certified diamond.
In a statement, RIAA chairman and CEO Cary Sherman stated, “We are delighted to recognize Eminem as the first artist to earn two RIAA Digital Diamond Awards. This singular achievement – earning a Diamond Award on two separate digital songs – is unparalleled, and we congratulate him on forever etching a mark in Gold & Platinum Program history.”
In addition to this, Em has two diamond-selling albums – The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show.
