Jhené Aiko recruits monster lineup for Chilombo release.

After introducing the world to a dreamlike experience illustrated in the ‘P*$$Y Fairy (OTW)video, Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo – the R&B songstress’ full name, encapsulates the spirit of what the title of her third LP signifies, “wild beast”.

In a sense, I am like a volcano and this album is an eruption,” says Jhené in a recent interview with Billboard where she discusses the album.

With making her long-awaited return to social media, Def Jam’s alluring vocalist wasted no time in delivering new music surrounding Chilombo’s debut – most recently premiering the official video for ‘Happiness Over Everything (H.O.E)‘ ft. Future and Miguel, which has amassed 2M views via YouTube in under one week.

Leaning on mother nature to introduce the notion of sound healing into her music, Jhené sought comfort in Hawaiian utopia while working on her latest project – embracing the aesthetic associated with The Aloha State.

Chilombo houses guest-verses from a wide-ranging list of notable talents including – Big Sean, H.E.R, Future, Miguel, Ab-Soul, Dr.Chill (Jhené’s Dad), Micahfonecheck, Nas, John Legend and Ty Dolla $ign. The Los Angeles-native offers up a twenty-track LP that covers a range of attributes that define her mellifluous sound.

In support of the album’s release, Jhené is gearing up to embark on a statewide tour across major U.S. cities for The Magic Hour Tour – championed with additional performances by Queen Naija and Ann Marie.

It appears as though this LP is different from past work, demonstrating a transparent perspective illustrated through Jhené’s heartfelt social media post earlier today. Whether it’s her quirky belief in ancient aliens or the blood, sweat and tears sacrificed in order to compose her passion-filled effort, Chilombo presents an opportunity to understand the artist behind the music.
