Today represents yet another sad day for the Hip Hop industry. Yesterday, it was confirmed that Louisiana rapper, JayDaYoungan, had been shot and killed in his hometown. Originally, it was reported that the 24-year-old rapper, born Javorius Scott, had been shot multiple times alongside his father, Kenyatta Scott Sr., outside of his home. While being transported to a local hospital via helicopter, close sources say the “23 Island” rapper reportedly “wasn’t breathing.”

The Bogalusa Police Department released the following statement, “On Wednesday, July 27th, 2022 at 5:50 pm the Bogalusa Police Department received a call of a shooting in the 600 block of Superior Avenue. Officers responded and found that one victim had been transported by POV to Our Lady of the Angels Emergency Room. Another victim, still on scene, was critically wounded and was treated on scene by EMS, then transported to OLA ER. Their condition cannot be released at this time.”

They later provided an update on the incident, confirming that JayDaYoungan had been killed.

Jay shares an infant son with, Jordan B, who he previously dated on and off for a few years. The two often made headlines for their tumultuous relationship. Following news of his death, Jordan took to Twitter to express how heartbroken she was.

Sending prayers and condolences to JayDaYoungans family during this trying time.
