[BREAKING] Tekashi 6ix9ine Sentenced To 2 Years In Prison

Tekashi 6ix9ine will remain behind bars.

Tekashi 6ix9ine has been incarcerated for quite some time, but his federal case has finally come to a close. Today, a judge sentenced the “GUMMO” rapper, born Daniel Hernandez, to 24 months in prison – meaning he will be released towards the end of 2020. The good news is that he will be credited for the time he has already spent in jail.

Due to his cooperation, prosecutors decided to go easy on 69’s sentence, but U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer still held him accountable for his role in the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

During the hearing, Engelmayer explained his reasoning behind the sentence, “Your cooperation was impressive. It was game changing. It was complete and it was brave. The following are my thoughts, and this is going to take a little while. You are in custody for 13 months. I agree you deserve a great deal of credit for cooperation. However, I cannot agree with your counsel that time served it appropriate. In my judgment, your conduct is too violent and selfish to make 13 months reasonable. You will not be going free today.”

Before the sentencing hearing began, Tekashi expressed his remorse for the crimes he had committed, “When people see me, they don’t only see Tekashi 69, the arrogant – I’m a human, I got organs just like everyone in this room. They see Daniel Hernandez, not Tekashi 69.”

He added, “I failed these kids, the millions of kids, my own kids, I haven’t spoke too, the whole time incarcerated. It will be a priority of mine to visit low-income families. I failed these people. They believed in Daniel Hernandez. I was too busy making the negative image in my 69 persona. I know God has a bigger plan for me. I want to inspire the youth that it never too late to change.”

Once his sentence is complete, 6ix9ine will be required to complete 300 hours of community service, 5 years of supervised release, as well as pay a $35,000 fine.

In November 2018, Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested on a slew of charges including racketeering and drug trafficking.
