Chynna Rogers’ cause of death has been revealed.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Philadelphia rapper, Chynna Rogers, 25, had passed away. Following the devastating news, Rogers’ family released an official statement in regards to her sudden death, “Chynna was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. We would like to thank each and everyone one of you for the love shown to our family for the loss of our beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Chynna Rogers.”

“Words cannot express the pain we are feeling right now but your calls, texts and words of comfort are helping us to heal. Love on your loved ones as each day is a gift! Continue to keep the Magness and Rogers family in your thoughts and prayers.”

At the time, details surrounding Rogers’ death were unclear, but today, a representative from the Philadelphia Department of Public Health confirmed to Fox News that the “Selfie” rapstress died from an accidental overdose.

During an interview with Pitchfork in 2018, Rogers opened up about her drug addiction, “I usually don’t express myself or get open about things until it’s in hindsight, and I’m not dealing with it anymore. That’s why I didn’t tell people that I was a drug addict until I got out of rehab.”

“I see a lot of artists decide they want to go through sh*t with their fans, and that’s cool because it gives your fans something to hold onto. But I need to handle it myself first, and then, when I’ve figured out how I want to word it, we can talk about it. Y’all not about to go through it with me.”

At 14, Rogers signed a contract with Ford Models. She also served as an intern for A$AP Yams, who passed away in 2015 due to an accidental drug overdose.

Ironically, Rogers’ last body of work, In Case I Die First, was released last year.
