Yung Mazi was gunned down in his hometown of Atlanta.
Last night, Atlanta rapper and BWA affiliate, Yung Mazi, born Jibril Abdur-Rahman, 31, was shot and killed in the Kirkwood neighborhood of the city as he was leaving Urban Pie pizza restaurant.
At around 8:55 p.m., local police at the Zone 6 headquarters located across the street from Urban Pie responded to a report of 10 to 25 gunshots. Upon arrival, authorities found Mazi, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He died on the scene.
Atlanta police Lt. Ricardo Vasquez told WAGA-TV news, “We feel that the victim was targeted. We don’t feel that there was anybody else who was an intended person of the shooting and we have very little to go on at this time.”
Police have not apprehended a suspect yet, however, they have released a description of the shooter who ran from the scene, “We do have a black male. He was wearing a white tee shirt with dark jeans with dreads pulled back and possibly up in a bun.”
Mazi has been a shooting victim a number of times. In 2015, he sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his legs. Then on December 27, 2016, he was shot in the chest at a Buckhead Waffle House. Hours after the shooting he tweeted, “God made me bulletproof.”
