After taking a number of L’s in 2015, you would think by now Tyga has learned his lesson. However, the 26 year old “Make It Nasty” is already starting off the new year on the wrong foot. A 14 year old aspiring model and singer named Molly O’ Malia claims Tyga initiated unwanted and uncomfortable contact with her via Instagram through direct messages.
On Monday, O’Malia came forward during a press conference with acclaimed lawyer, Gloria Allred, where she revealed that Tyga contacted her first stating, “I knew who he was but I was surprised that he was contacting me. I thought that it could possibly be about my music, but he did not mention that in his initial communication with me. I thought that was strange, but I was thinking he would bring that up in his next message to me. However, he didn’t mention it in the next message.”
Through tears, O’Malia continued, “I began to feel uncomfortable when he asked me to FaceTime with him. He asked me to FaceTime 3 times, but I did not do it. Because of my discomfort with why he wanted to communicate with me I quickly stopped responding to him. It’s crazy how so much can come out of nothing.” O’Malia concluded stating that she was speaking out because she didn’t want what happened to her to happen to another girl. Molly’s mom, Anne Lowry O’Malia, also released a statement bashing OK! Magazine for “falsely [insinuating] that there was an inappropriate sexually suggestive relationship going on between Tyga and Molly.”
Meanwhile, Tyga and his manager, Anthony Martini, explain a completely different story. Martini says Tyga only reached out to O’Malia to discuss a music opportunity. Allegedly, O’Malia has a big online following, and Tyga was considering working on a project with her through his record label, Last Kings Records. As far as Tyga requesting to FaceTime O’Malia, Martini says he wanted to hear Molly sing as he was joined in the studio with his producers.
I don’t know how justifiable Tyga’s response is, but either way, this isn’t a good look for him.
