Ty Dolla Sign is the latest celebrity to fall behind on their taxes.
The IRS has slapped Ty Dolla Sign with a nasty tax lien. The 31 year old “Campaign” singer reportedly owes a whopping $180,969.35 in back taxes. It has been revealed that Ty owes $16,617.05 for 2011, $54,626.91 for 2013, and $109,725.39 for 2014. As you can see, the numbers increased each year as his success grew.
I’m sure Ty won’t have a hard time paying off the $180K, and he’s definitely not in the boat alone. Many other artists have fallen behind in paying their taxes and have suffered the consequences. In 2013, Lauryn Hill served 3 months in jail for failing to pay taxes on roughly $1.8 million in earnings. Nelly was recently slapped with a 2.4 million federal tax bill, while Toni Braxton owes the state of California $125,000 in back taxes.
Ty released his first studio album, “Free TC”, back in 2015.
