What happened to the good old days when people used to be able to safely attend a concert and enjoy themselves? This ridiculous new trend of stage diving is injuring fans and costing artists a pretty penny. On Sunday, two girls were inured after Fetty Wap jumped off of the stage and into the crowd at the Billboard Hot 100 festival in Long Island, New York.
The two victims became trapped under a steel fence (that protected Fetty from the hundreds of concertgoers) when the crowd rushed the stage. More than 1,000 fans in attendance pushed forward in an effort to capture a photo and video clip of the New Jersey rapper. The girls were treated backstage by paramedics. Only minutes after the incident occured, Fetty took the stage to apologize before continuing his performance.
Fetty Wap is one of two dozen artists performing at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre. Others include Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne.
