Prayers up for Trina and her family right now. Late last night, her 17-year-old niece, Baby Suga, was shot and killed in Miami. Born Toni Chester, Suga was reportedly in “the wrong place at the wrong time” when her life was viciously taken.
Law enforcement has launched an investigation in an effort to find out why the shooting occurred and if Chester was targeted. Two other victims in their mid-twenties were also shot during the incident, they are currently listed in “stable” condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Miami police officer, Kenia Fallat, released the following statement to WSVN, “We don’t know who was the intended target, but definitely, it was a very big scene and we still are trying to work to getting more answers.”
“We’re still trying to piece the puzzle together, there’s an additional scene that could be related. We’re still trying to figure out how it fits in with our incident.”
Authorities are asking that anyone with tips to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. They have advised that callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a $5000.00 reward.
Chester’s family says she was excited to start her senior year of high school. Trina has yet to break her silence, but a rep from her team has asked that fans respect her privacy during this time.
