Kevin Parker resurfaces with Tame Impala‘s fourth LP titled The Slow Rush.

The 34-year-old Australian prefers a sense of solitude that’s clearly indicative of his momentary hiatus away from the limelight spent curating the follow up to 2015’s critically-adulated Currents project.

Five years later, a 12-track arrangement of sonic depiction covering a span of subjects hinting at the unforeseeable future, embedded with psychedelia temperament, has surfaced to usher in a well-versed soundscape that fuses elements of Pop, Conventional Rock and Dance Music.

The Slow Rush couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time as Tame Impala’s unwavering fan base peaked with avidity in anticipation of the project’s release. Interestingly enough, Parker attributed the roll-out of the LP to channel Kanye West’ mien in saying ‘When I was making this one, I had to embody a bit of a Kanye West perspective on it, which is like, it’s finished when it’s finished. Don’t f*cking rush me,‘ via UPROXX.

The title selection for songs featured on The Slow Rush carry a conscious effort to debrief the audience with momentary nostalgia and other forms of remembrance, shedding insight on what stark moments and uplifting occurrences have contributed to influencing Parker’s crusade of pensive cognizance.

Time appears to be the longing concept that renders understanding in valuing its existence throughout the album. The multi-instrumentalist, electronic maestro has undoubtedly cemented himself at the forefront of musical prestige – providing a aberrant regard for expression in the art of melodic harmonization.
