Take a Trip & Meet Toure, 2019’s Artist To Watch

by inyaearstaff

Relationships are meaningful and hold an immeasurable amount of value.

In the same respect, support is a direct by-product of the different characteristics associated with a relationship.

The value that stems from the level of support that arises when the city is on your side changes lives, and that is the story of Toure.

With 2019 sought out to be one of the most vivacious years in music, Toure has a promising future ahead of himself, as his passion and dedication work collectively in an effort to take his career to new heights.

In this over-the-phone interview we caught up with the artist to talk new music, inspirations and more.

What inspired the name?

My name was inspired by a few artists around my way. Each of my cousins had they own rap name, and I would always talk about how I would go here and do this, and that, the rest history. I put the “E” on the end to trademark myself.

When did you start doing music?

I started doing music when I was about 14.

What was it like growing up in Philadelphia?

It was a roller-coaster. A lot of obstacles I had to get over, there was no limit. You never know what’s going to happen next. Our city glorifies a lot of negativity.

What inspires your creativity as an artist?

I feel like I can speak for any person that’s been through a similar situation than me. It’s easier to relate to something that’s real.

Talk to me about The World Toure EP

My favorite song is the Intro, I really introduced myself in comparison to some of my older projects. I feel like this project was a transitional period, from doing regular shit to touring my life up. Touching more money than I’ve ever seen and going places I’ve never been.  I talk about the shit that really be going on.

Talk to me about “My First Love”

My First Love was recorded in Jacksonville. I was in a good place when I made that song, the energy was good at that time. It was my first time recording in that studio, my first time working with that engineer, and it came out good.

Any words of advice for rising artists?

Everyday counts, drop now. In 2016 I had got cosigned by Meek and I already had out 50 or 60 songs. So, I feel like it took me to get acceptance from somebody else to start popping when it was so hot that I would’ve been poppin’ without that. It’s no waiting in this industry, time just keep going.

What does 2019 have in store for you?

2019, it’s a lot going on. I’m trying to drop an album. My daughter coming, I want her to grow up without a stress. I want videos to come, I want to cop so ice…interviews! I want to get more in touch with my people. Just build my brand a bit more, be on the scene.

What life experiences have impacted you most?

I had a baby on the way that didn’t make it. I feel like at that time I was going through a lot of personal stuff. When the baby didn’t make it, I feel like it was a sign. I felt like that motivated me to push harder and I haven’t let up since.

I’ve also lost a few of my friends growing up. I experience heartache when people in my environment that I’m supposed to be motivating hate on me, that shit makes you a warrior.

Are you excited about becoming a dad?

Yeah, I feel like this one of the best things to happen to me. It happened around a good time, I’m 22. It was time to start giving myself more of a reason to grind. God gave me a plan and a reason to bring it all in. Somebody depending on me.

Talk to me about support

I got a great support system. My manager is someone that’s going to make sure I stay active. My team isn’t letting me slow up in general. The whole Buga nation. I don’t have no selfish people on my team.
