snoop dogg and wiz khalifa sued over railing collapse

Earlier this month, 42 victims were injured when a railing collapsed at Snoop Dogg’s and Wiz Khalifa’s concert. Now, 17 people have filed a lawsuit against the venue’s operator, Snoop Dogg, and Wiz Khalifa – claiming they didn’t take necessary precautions to make sure that concertgoers would be safe.

Out of the seventeen victims, 14 are fans and 3 are venue employees. Initial reports claimed that between 10 and 40 people suffered “bumps and bruises”, but the lawsuit states that one victim suffered a fractured spine.

The victim’s attorney, Robert J. Mongeluzzi, released the following statement to the Associated Press, “I can tell you there is no doubt there was a crowd surge based upon the setup of the lawn with no chairs and no aisles, lack of security, and then the artists telling people to come forward. That’s the setup, and that’s the failure.”

A spokesperson for the Camden, New Jersey police department clarified the statements and reports, stating, “Almost all of them were just treated on the scene and released. Maybe two or three to the hospital. I don’t know the extent of their injuries, but I didn’t gather it was super-serious. I think we’re looking at bumps and bruises here.”
