Quibi is slated to release 175 new original shows in the first year including scripted, unscripted and daily news.

Regarded as the first entertainment platform designed specifically for mobile users, Quibi houses original content from Hollywood’s biggest stars and creatives worldwide. With each chapter or episode lasting 10 minutes or less, this new innovative approach on combating the ever-changing streaming industry is a defining moment for mobile-first media technology.

Quibi’s primary focus is ‘to bring storytelling into life’s in-between moments‘ as mentioned on their website. The platform’s unique Turnstyle technology allows content to be watched full screen, no matter how your phone is being held.

For the average commuter or socially distant consumer navigating the world’s newfound restrictions at the hands of a quarantined society, the quick bites of news, docs and daily essential pieces are ideal for a country whose everyday routine has changed abruptly.

Large intervals of media consumption have become the world’s favorite pastime overnight, with stay-at-home kids and adults accounting for a surge in ratings and viewership. For the traditional channel surfer or binge-happy viewer spending time catching up on their favorite series, the Quibi app is now offering subscribers 90 days of free content for those that sign up before April 30. Once the 3 month trial concludes, a subscription price point is set for $4.99 per month with ads and $7.99 monthly without ads.

This concept of short-form programming is relatively new, but Quibi did a phenomenal job at content rollout with recruiting a bevy of big-name talents and familiar faces for their premiere. A quick rundown of a few can’t-miss project’s making their debut this week include: Most Dangerous Game, Chrissy’s Court, Punk’d, Flipped and I Promise – a featured glimpse into Lebron James’ educational initiative geared towards influencing the gap in achievement amongst children in his hometown.

Whether it’s Chance the Rapper getting laughs off by playing practical jokes on celebrities or Tituss Burgess displaying culinary prowess as host of a new cooking competition, Quibi is poised to deliver content that caters to a number of entertainment cravings.

With over 50 shows premiering, launch week is seeking out to be nothing short of compelling – and it’s finally here.
