Today Nicki Minaj graced the stage in New York City’s Central Park for Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series performing her songs “Feeling Myself” and “The Night Is Still Young”. The rapstress took the stage in a sexy black and nude ensemble with 4 backup dancers to match. Nearing the end of her set the queen shouted, “Don’t let anybody steal your joy.”
The Barbadian beauty also took the time out to address her Twitter beef with Taylor Swift, as well as her issues with the VMA nominations. Minaj revealed she liked and respected Swift. She also made it clear to her Barbz that she and Swift had a phone conversation stating, “First of all, I spoke with Taylor Swift yesterday on the phone. She was super, super sweet.” The queen also told Good Morning America that Swift stated, “I didn’t understand the big picture, but now I get it.”
Minaj continued on explaining that she stood firm with her believe that MTV snubbed “Anaconda” for Video Of The Year stating, “Anaconda” had such a huge cultural impact, and on top of that, we broke the Vevo record. So this is actually my third time breaking the Vevo record, and “Anaconda” therefore should have been nominated. I do think that if it was one of the pop girls, they would have had many nominations for it. I think I got two nominations for Anaconda — for ‘Female’ and for ‘hip-hop,’ but it should’ve been for the year.”
