Young Money recording artist Nicki Minaj will now be making her second movie appearance! How exciting is that Barbz?! The Trinidadian born beauty has officially been added to the upcoming sequel of the sequel to Ice Cube’s Barbershop. Minaj will star alongside Eve, Deon Cole, Regina Hall, Common, Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, and Anthony Anderson.
Malcolm D. Lee, the director of the Best Man movies, will be directing Barbershop 3. The script was written by Black-ish creators Kenya Barris and Tracey Oliver. Ice Cube’s Cube Vision is producing the film with Bob Teitel and George Tilman Jr. of State Street Pictures serving as the lead producers.
Barbershop 2: Back In Business was released in 2004, so I’m sure fans are looking forward to this one.
Minaj’s first film debut was in 2012 in The Other Woman with Cameron Diaz. The film was a box office hit earning over five times its production costs.
