Originally, reports claimed that Gucci would be released in March 2017, but since then his release date has been moved up to September 20th of this year. In 2013, Gucci was arrested and booked on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, and disorderly conduct. In 2014, Guwop plead guilty to two counts of felony possession of a firearm. While serving his original sentence of 183 days in prison, Gucci was slapped with two federal counts of possessing a firearm as a felon. Those charges resulted in him pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Despite being locked up, Gucci has continued to release new music, dropping a total of 12 projects in 2014.
