Every since “Panda” dropped, listeners everywhere have accused Desiigner of biting Future’s style. I also agree that Desiigner does in fact sound a lot like the “Purple Reign” rapper, but hey, at least he doesn’t look like him. A couple of days ago, while putting in some work on his turntables, producer Jermaina Dupri came to the conclusion that the beat to “Panda” and Future’s “F*ck Up Some Commas” sound exactly alike. But according to the producer behind the beat, 23 year old Menace from Manchester, the 2 beats have nothing in common.

In a new interview with HipHopDX, Menace stated, “Because in the song ‘F*ck Up Some Commas,’ the main sound is a piano, where as mine is a synth sound. And mine keeps going where as ‘F*ck Up Some Commas’ goes and stops. And my drums as well; that’s the main difference you can tell, my drums are more hard-knocking than ‘F*ck Up Some Commas.”

Menace then pointed out that the “Panda” beat was more influenced by U.K. Grime music, then it was Trap, “Grime is the UK scene, And grime is an energetic type of form of music that can be 140 BPM but an ‘explode-in-your-face’ type of music. And the BPM’s on both beats, they don’t match as well. Mine is faster. Much, much faster.”

Do you think Dupri was just reaching, or is there some truth behind his discovery? Sound off in the comment section below!
