Meek Mill just dodged a bullet.
It appears that Meek Mill scored a huge victory in court this morning. Last night, the Lord Knows rapper was arrested in New York City after police viewed a video of him weaving in and out of traffic and popping wheelies on his dirt bike. Consequently, Meek was charged with reckless endangerment and thrown in the slammer.
According to new reports from TMZ, Meek has been cleared of his reckless endangerment charge. It’s unclear why prosecutors have decided not to pursue the charge against Meek, but his lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, says “The case was ridiculous from the start because the incident went down Wednesday right in front of cops who did nothing to stop it.”
TMZ reports that the new charge will be some sort of misdemeanor.
Immediately following Meek’s arrest, a fan page on Instagram quickly came to his defense, writing, “I just don’t understand shit no more. There is no way y’all arrest #meekmill for something as small as riding a dirt bike, mind you they only confiscate your bike they don’t follow arrest so for them to use that as a bullshit excuse it’s ridiculous!”
“The system stays trying to throw bs on the man because of his name! He’ll get out on bond or they’ll just let him go still crazy he might miss Jimmy Fallon tonight if it wasn’t prerecorded smdh I just find it funny how when he’s set to perform “YOUNG BLACK AMERICA” on national tv they pull this type of card to stop it!”
