A couple of days ago Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill announced via Instagram that he would be stepping up to the plate to help out Flint, Michigan residents who are currently suffering from a water crisis. It looks like Meek is a man of his word!

The 28 year old “Young & Gettin’ It” rapper donated 60,000 bottles of water to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, but his generosity didn’t stop there. Meek also donated to the Flint Child and Family Health Development Fund. For all you Meek Mill haters… take that! Meek’s donations reportedly have “nothing to do” with his court mandated community service, he simply wanted to help out the city of Flint during their time of need.

Hopefully, other entertainers will follow Meek’s lead and donate. Cher recently donated 180,000 bottles of water to Flint residents. Let’s see if 50 Cent accepts Meek’s challenge to match his donations.

Kudos to Meek, this is a step in the right direction.
