Lil Yachty breaks down his beef with Soulja Boy.
Lil Yachty and Soulja Boy’s beef was short-lived, but according to Yachty, it was never a beef to begin with. Last month, the two rappers began taking shots at each other after they both claimed to be dating model India Love.
Soulja posted a screenshot of a text message from Yachty asking him to take down the photos of himself and Love posted onto social media- which only stemmed Soulja to post more. But only one day after attacking Yachty, in an attempt to squash the beef, Soulja Boy revealed that he was acting out of character because he didn’t have his drugs while on the road.
Lil Boat recently appeared on 97.9 The Box in Houston, Texas, and opened up about the situation. According to Boat, the entire ordeal was ridiculous and Soulja was simply yearning for attention. Yachty stated, “It was so stupid. That was not a rap beef. I didn’t take that serious. He took it serious but nobody else took that serious.”
“I’d like to clear up the fact that that was not a beef. And it wasn’t fake. A lot of people thought it was a publicity stunt. I don’t need a publicity stunt, bro. That’s not me being cocky, bro. I don’t even want to be in the public like that.”
Boat proceeded to say he once thought Soulja was the coolest person, and that he would’ve went crazy if “it was somebody relevant” coming at him. When asked if he still keeps in touch with Love, Boat was quick to say yes, before adding, “That whole thing…everything he said was a lie. He was just talking, it was just fake… old pictures from a year ago.”
Although Soulja says he done beefing and is getting back to the money, that hasn’t stopped him from teasing a Lil Yachty diss track.
