Lil Wayne and Baby have been spotted hanging out quite frequently over the past few weeks. Although it’s a huge relief to see the father and son are finally on speaking terms, many are wondering if Wayne has dropped his lawsuit against Baby. Unfortunately, Wayne’s $51 million lawsuit is still active, and he has no intentions of backing down.
Birdman may have publicly professed his love for Weezy at Club LIV, but Weezy isn’t buying. A source from Weezy’s camp stated, “Wayne and his legal team still have every intention of proceeding with the lawsuit, which they filed in January 2015.” Weezy and Baby may have ended their beef on a personal level, but their business relationship appears to still be in shambles.
Fans began to suspect that there was trouble in paradise in for Wayne in December 2014 after he tweeted, “To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it”, which was followed by “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy. I am a prisoner and so is my creativity. Again,I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u.”
Weezy is not only suing Birdman for $51 million, but he is also asking the judge to declare him joint copyright holder of all Young Money recordings.
