After only 1 year of dating, Lil Wayne, 32, and Christina Milian, 33, have reportedly broken up. The “Start A Fire” collaborators started dating in July 2014, shortly after she split from her fiance, Jas Prince. Allegedly, they decided to throw in the towel in late August, right around the time tragedy struck Milian’s family. Her younger sister, Danielle, 29, lost her newborn baby boy, Richie, only hours after giving birth. During Danielle’s pregnancy Richie was diagnosed with omphalocele, a life-threatening condition where organs form outside the body. Despite the doctor’s opinion, Danielle and her husband decided against terminating the pregnancy, determined to give their son a chance at life.
In the public eye, Milian and Weezy seemed head over hills for each other, never showing any signs of trouble in their relationship. According to a close source, the two stars split on good terms and their busy schedules played a huge role in their breakup. The source stated, “They’ve broken up a few times before. She’s got so much going on with Grandfathered, her E! and Hulu shows, and working on her album with Wayne. It doesn’t help that Wayne is all over the place too. They both have insane lives and schedules.”
Back in January, Milian told US Magazine, “We’re both very happy” while talking about her track “Rebel”. “He’s very special to me, yeah. For me, I’m so inspired by the relationship that I’m in that it’s definitely an experience. It’s that careless, hopeless, romantic love — that feeling of ‘I will do anything for you’ and it’s just incredible and so yeah, ‘rebel for you’ means ‘I’m all about you.’ We love that!’ Everything works.”
