Toni Braxton owes a generous amount of back taxes.
It appears that Toni Braxton owes Uncle Sam a great deal of money. According to The Blast, four liens have been filed against Braxton – two from the State of California, and two from the federal government.
Apparently, Braxton owes California $113,500.93 and $116,870.07 in back taxes from 2015 and 2016. In addition, she owes the government $310,223.28 and $240,214.01 for 2015 and 2016. The “Unbreak My Heart” owes $780,808.29 in total.
Unfortunately, Braxton has had her share of financial woes. In 1998 and 2010, she filed for bankruptcy. Braxton noted that she filed for bankruptcy in 1998 because she only received a small amount of the profit made from her first album.
She also revealed that she had a shopping addiction for house decor, “I love dishes and house things, so I kind of lost it a little bit on houseware… but that kind of stuff – the girly things, oh yeah – that’s what I indulge.”
Toni’s next three albums proved to be unsuccessful. To make matters worse, she was diagnosed with Lupus – therefore, forcing her to file for bankruptcy once again.
