Last month, former NBA star Lamar Odom, 36, was hospitalized after slipping into a coma following a reported drug overdose at a Nevada brothel. After suffering multiple strokes and remaining in a coma for three days, Lamar is awake and recovering. It will be a long road for Lamar who may have suffered brain damage. His wife, Khloe Kardashian, recently appeared on Ellen and stated Lamar continues to have trouble speaking but is “learning how to walk again and feed himself again, put sentences together. He is off of all machines that help his organs, but still he has such a long way to go.”
As if Lamar doesn’t have enough on his plate already, he may now be facing charges stemming from his cocaine use at the brothel which left him unconscious. Nye County District Attorney Angela A. Bello stated, “The D.A.’s office will take the time needed to appropriately review that request, along with all evidence that might support that request, in order to reach a just conclusion regarding whether to advance charges.” Odom could potentially be slapped with an unlawful use of cocaine charge, or a being under the influence of a controlled substance charge.
When the 911 called was placed for Odom in the brothel, a man confirmed that Odom had been using cocaine.
