Kofi, one of Red Bull Records‘ recent signees, details new single ‘Nuff Talk’ feat. Rodney.
‘Nuff Talk’ taps into the Toronto-native’s multidisciplinary dynamic as a rapper, songwriter, singer and producer. His unique blend of afropop-inspired undertone and electronically produced chords provide insight to the intrinsic nature of Kofi’s ranging soundscape.
A fusion of Toronto-inspired alternative R&B elements with a smidgen of his Ghanaian roots, Kofi manages to tease listeners with a preview of his lyrical savviness through a three minute sequence that covers love, sensual desires and autotuned ambition.
The Story of My Life is Kofi’s forthcoming EP slated to release later this year. Co-produced, written, mix and mastered by Kofi himself, the effort will mark the dawn of his recently established relationship with Red Bull Records, and to say that he’s elated about this new endeavor – well, that would be an understatement in short.
“After releasing music on my own the past few years, I’m excited to have the support of Red Bull Records and work with the team to release some incredible music”, Kofi shared. “I’m really looking forward to the fans hearing my upcoming EP because it’s such a personal project that lets people into my world” he continued.
Red Bull Records Virtual Festival is set to take place this upcoming Friday (May 1), featuring a variety of performances from the label’s developing roster. The show will be available to stream via RBR’s respective socials (Facebook, YouTube and Twitch) starting at 11AM PST/ 2PM EST – featuring a set from the buzzing songster.
With a new EP on the way and a virtual performance in the works, it’s pretty evident that a pandemic won’t stop the grind – you just have to embrace the digital aesthetic.
