Most of the time we consider celebrities to be people with an infinite amount of money and a lavish lifestyle. But in some cases, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Rapper, producer, and fashion designer Kanye West, 38, recently announced that he is $53 million dollars in personal debt. Let’s be honest, Kanye is the LAST person that we all expect to have financial woes. A couple of days ago Ye unveiled his Yeezy Season 3 collection in Madison Square Garden during New York Fashion Week, and also debuted his eighth studio album, The Life Of Pablo. There were no apparent signs of a struggling artist in sight, but you never know.
Ye is involved in a number of successful business ventures right now, but his very own clothing line may be what’s taking a toll on his bank account. In a behind the scenes interview at the 2015 BET Honors, Yeezy admitted that he was $16 million dollars in debt, all from trying to get his clothing line off the ground. So by now, that debt could have very well tripled. (Some are skeptical if this is true or not.)
During one of Ye’s typical Twitter rants, the Chicago native surprisingly reached out to Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, and asked him for a billion dollars. Ye admits to being rich and fortunate enough to buy houses and furs for his family, however, he claims could “bring more beautiful ideas to the world with more money”. I don’t know if Zuckerberg is going to fall for it, but Yeezy reached out to Google founder, Larry Page, as well.
Check out Ye’s tweets below.
