In support of “Trap Or Die 3”, Jeezy recently appeared on “Larry King Now” for a 30 minute interview. While visiting Larry King, Jeezy discussed a number of sensitive topics including Black Lives Matter, Barack Obama, and homophobia in Hip-Hop.

Although Jeezy was quick to praise Obama for what he’s accomplished during his eight years in office, he admitted the recent number of police shootings that have taken place is troubling, “The target is young black men. I kind of know how to play the game, but for these kids who are coming up, they don’t know how to respond or do certain things — it can end up bad.” Jeezy went on to express concern for his teenage son, “Everyday we talk and I try to keep him close to me.”

When asked his opinion on the Black Lives Matter movement, Jeezy stated, “We feel like we’re being picked on, or we’re being targeted, and nobody is doing anything about it. It’s almost like nobody cares for no black men or black lives.”

“You have to speak up and say something. The streets selected me. They put me in more of a position to be able to take care of my family, if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be sitting here with you, and I can’t forget that, ever.”

The “Goldmine” rapper also gave praise to “Ooouuu” emcee, Young M.A. – who is openly gay, but has proven to be successful and has broken down barriers despite all of the negativity surrounding homophobia in the Hip Hop community. “I guess culture-wise it just doesn’t match with it — what hip-hop represents. You know, hip-hop is about being tough and just really being dominant and just being individual with it.”
