Kendrick Lamar stole the show at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, however, his fellow Top Dawg Entertainment label mate Jay Rock didn’t have as much luck. While Lamar nabbed up Grammy after Grammy last night, Jay Rock, born Johnny Reed McKinzie, Jr., 30, was involved in a “bad accident” on his motorcycle.
The unfortunate news broke when TDE CEO Anthony Tiffith tweeted, “Pray 4 @jayrock he had a bad accident on his motorcycle.. He’s hurt pretty bad… #TDE”, which was followed by “Jayrock is not in a coma or near death…a lot of broken bones…”. TDE President Punch also chimed in to give an update tweeting, “Just saw @JayRock. He’s recovering. Thanks for the calls, text, tweets, concerns etc…”.
Jay Rock may have a long recovery ahead of him, but thankfully he doesn’t have any fatal injuries. This morning, Tiffith gave an update tweeting, “My guy @JayRock just got out of surgery and he’s doing fine…Thanks 4 all the prayers.. Ppl please stop showing up at the hospital #TDE” before informing everyone that he will continue to keep them updated.
