Ice Cube is not losing any sleep over Jerry Heller’s death.

Last Friday, N.W.A.’s first manager and co-founder of Ruthless Records, Jerry Heller, passed away at the age of 75. Many people were devastated upon learning of his passing, while others continued to criticize him for allegedly cheating N.W.A. out of their money. Due to financial disputes, Ice Cube eventually left the group.

On Saturday, Cube sat down for an interview with Detroit’s Hot 107.5 where he was asked how he felt about Heller’s passing. To say the least, Cube was brutally honest, stating, “I didn’t have no emotions, you know. I’m just glad I’m with my brothers today. I’m glad I’m with DJ Yella. I’m glad I’m with MC Ren today, and it’s only right. So, you know, I ain’t gon’ pop no champagne, but I ain’t gon’ shed no tears either. It is what it is, you know. We come here to pass, and he’s outta here, so you know. Like I said, I’m not losing no sleep over that one.”

Ironically, TMZ caught up with Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson, who also chimed in on Heller’s death, “Of course, he had his moments where he was a champion for the group of N.W.A. and he does deserve credit for a lot of the good that he’s done.

“You never want to, of course, wish death on anybody or anything like that. He was an older gentlemen. He never had the most respectful things to say about my father. But at the end of the day, the good that he did, I’m not going to say it outweighed the bad, I don’t know, I just want to be respectful. Rest in peace.”

Prior to his death, Heller filed a $110 million defamation lawsuit against Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, the estate of Eazy E, and Straight Outta Compton’s filmmakers for portraying him as an “exploitative record label manager.”
