Gilla and DVSN join forces on “Hallucinations” (Reps Up Remix).
OVO signee DVSN came out pretty strong a few months back when he dropped his album entitled “SEPT. 5th.” The Toronto rapper has made some huge waves since the release, really making a name for himself.
However, early this morning he decided to collab with another OVO affiliate Gilla on the remix to the track “Hallucinations” – one of his top singles.
Sources say that the way Gilla became part of the remix was kind of informal stating, “I was in the club with DVSN and their song came on and Daniel Daley (DVSN vocalist) was like ‘yo, you should remix this on some street shit, I know you would kill it.”
Weeks later, the duo decided to get to work, and while of course the song alone was already a smooth calm track, Gilla adds a pretty unique spin adding harder more heavy beats to the track for a definite street feel.
He goes as far as starting his verse speaking about life in the streets and the hardships attached to this, relating those feelings to hallucinating.
While Gilla’s verse is a lot different from the tone of the original track, it does fit rather well.
