G Herbo fans all over the world are rejoicing right now! During an interview at SXSW, the 20 year old Chicago native revealed that he will finally drop his drop his debut album, Humble Beast, this year. Herbo stated, “You can definitely expect an album in 2016. On the low, within a six month radius… maybe.” Although he didn’t announce a specific release date, it’s just nice to know it’s in the works and on the way.

Last September, Herb released his third mixtape, Ballin Like I’m Kobe, which was well received and raked in great reviews. Patrick Lyons of HotNewHipHop, rated the mixtape a 86% stating, “This is one of the most powerful tapes of the year, with tracks that grab you by the collar and shake you into submission with their soul-baring honesty. Every line Herb raps, whether political, violent, philosophical or (on rare occasions) celebratory, is cut with all the stress and sadness that’s accumulated over 19 years. He truly sounds “19 years going on 39.”

On September 3, 2015 he signed a deal with Cinematic Music Group. When the deal was inked, Cinematic founder Jonny Shipes stated, “I think with Herb, I feel like I’m walking the streets of Chicago with him when I listen to him. Aside from him being a really dope rapper, storyteller and vivid painter, the youth f*cks with him super hard.” Well said, I definitely agree.
