Checkout Quin’s recent interview with DJ Slick B as he talks about his upcoming music as well as his thriving career in the industry.

Quin: What can we expect from your new music projects coming in 2020?

“2020 I have a few projects coming out. I have a R&B project I’m doing with artists from Detroit to give them a bigger platform. I’m going to try to cross it with other artists as well to have a bridge. Also, I’m doing the same thing with Detroit rappers. I’m going to have an album with artists that never got the chance to do records with each other. I’m pretty much going to be the bridge for the artists to connect with each other if they have too much pride or just never got to connect.”

“With the R&B project, I’m going to mainly work with Detroit artists, but I have connections in the industry. I don’t want to disclose and put it out there until it’s finished, but I’ve got industry artists too that are willing to work with me and I have records and verses on standby as well.”

Quin: With your hip-hop project coming soon, what is your opinion of Detroit’s hip-hop culture today?

“I feel like we’re finally getting the recognition we’ve been deserving for years. Our sound has been duplicated by many other states across the globe, but now we’re getting recognition from the culture itself. From image to music, everyone is finally getting their recognition. And we’ve been getting more artists coming out of Detroit. It’s been more and more as opposed to one every 5 to 10 years.”

Quin: What do you appreciate about being able to work in Detroit as opposed to other cities?

“If you can work in Detroit and become something out of nothing, I feel like you can make it anywhere just because of our grind and ambition. Going to different states can give you a different mentality.”

Quin: What would you say has been your most memorable experience as a DJ and why?

“I feel like me travelling has been the biggest highlight of my career. I’ve learned so much just travelling from state to state and seeing different cultures. Going to different states and being able to get booked and rock a show; people rocking with you. That’s been the highlight of my career.”
