Dreamville Takes On Atlanta With New Visual Aid For “Down Bad”

Dreamville releases the corresponding visual treatment for their highly-acclaimed record titled “Down Bad” from the ROTD3 (Revenge of The Dreamers III) compilation project.

The video is encompassed with Atlanta’s vibrant skyline and other remote locations throughout the city that highlight the perceptive ‘get it out the mud’ mantra best personified within the context of willful lyricism exercised by each artist involved.

Whether it’s the big bad Slimeball (Young Nudy) from the EA (East Atlanta) transcending the art of interpretation behind what it means to be a sovereign power amongst his fellow Atlantan counterparts or J.I.D’s follow-up verse that reiterates the expressive aesthetic behind staying down until you come up – the video is just as fun as the song, in a sophisticated ignorance type of way and I’m all for the shenanigans.

The lyrical debauchery continues as J.Cole, Bas and Earthgang appropriately offer up caterwauls of concurrency that reiterate the above referenced mantra of what it means to stay down. Coincidentally enough, the eclectic conglomerate of street poets and wordsmiths featured on this track end up at the top (literally), overlooking Atlanta’s neighboring communities after parading aimlessly throughout the city.

Thankfully, it was nowhere near five o’clock in the afternoon at the time of production or we would still be waiting for the finished product behind this visual aid – Atlanta traffic is truly a different type of time.
