Hip Hop mogul Dr. Dre was handcuffed and searched outside of his Malibu home yesterday following an incident with a motorist. According to reports, the motorist drove off of the Pacific Coast Highway and parked in front of the 47 year old rapper’s home, blocking his driveway. When Dre asked the driver to move so he could pull into his driveway, the driver proceeded to yell and curse out Dre.
As the man continued to harass Dre, the Aftermath head honcho pulled out his cell phone to record video of the incident. The driver allegedly thought Dre was reaching for a gun and stated, “Here we go again, another black guy with a gun.” That’s when the driver called the Los Angeles police department and stated that Dre stopped him in front of his driveway and “ordered him to leave and produced a handgun”.
Upon arrival, police cuffed and searched Dre for a weapon, but found nothing. Consequently, the police let Dre go. Sheriff’s Captain Chris Reed told the L.A. Times, “Due to the nature of the call, the person was searched, handcuffed, and briefly detained in a patrol car while deputies investigated the incident.”
The angered motorist insisted on making a citizen’s arrest, and even filed paperwork that will be sent to the District Attorney, who will decide if there is an actual case.
