Donald Glover inks a new record deal.

It looks like Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino) wont be retiring after all. The “3005” singer has signed a deal with RCA Records.

RCA CEO, Peter Edge, told Variety, “Donald is undoubtedly one of the most talented, multi-faceted, young entertainers of this era. We are excited to join forces with him and Wolf + Rothstein to usher in the next phase of Childish Gambino’s musical career.” Glover called the partnership with his Wolf + Rothstein imprint a “necessary change of pace.”

Fam Rothstein, who runs Wolf + Rothstein with Glover and Wolf Taylor, added, “Being malleable is important to us, and that’s what this partnership allows. Also, it was about that time.”

Glover’s new deal arrives on the heels of his departure from GlassNote Records. He signed with the label in 2011 – releasing two mixtapes and three albums, including his 2016 album, Awaken, My Love!.

Last year, Glover revealed that he would be retiring from music, “There’s nothing [worse] than like a third sequel, like a third movie and we’re like, ‘Again?’ You know, I like it when something’s good, and when it comes back there’s a reason to come back, there’s a reason to do that.”

Awaken, My Love! has earned Glover five Grammy Award nominations – including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best Urban Contemporary Album.
