The Drug Enforcement Administration has launched an investigation into Lil Peep’s death.

The Pima County Medical Examiner’s office in Tuscon, Arizona recently confirmed that Lil Peep died from an overdose of Xanax and Fentanyl. Now, the Drug Enforcement Administration has launched an investigation – in an effort to find the person who provided the powerful opioid.

Officials are interested in text messages sent from a woman named Mariah Bons, who reportedly stopped by Peep’s tour bus before he died. In a group Twitter chat, Bons wrote, “He (Peep) passed the fuck out my brother called and I tried to get him to say hi to my brother but he wouldn’t wake up…”

Another text read, “GBC [Lil Peep] High af (as f**k) because of me and my friend lol (laugh out loud).” Bons went on to say that it was strange that Peep wouldn’t wake up because usually he does easily. Hours later, Lil Peep was found dead on his tour bus. His death has been ruled as accidental.

A toxicology report has determined that Peep’s blood tested positive for marijuana, cocaine and Tramadol, while his urine tested positive for all of those drugs, along with the following opiates – Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone (Dilaudid), Oxycodone and Oxymorphone. No alcohol was present in his system.
