Yella Beezy was shot in Texas over the weekend.
It appears that Yella Beezy has dodged death. On Sunday, the “That’s On Me” rapper was shot multiple times on Sam Rayburn Tollway in Lewisville, Texas. Apparently, Beezy was driving when another car pulled up next to him fired into his vehicle. More than a dozen shots were fired, but it remains unclear how many times Yella was struck.
Yesterday, a representative for Yella, Sanda Lal, released the following statement on Instagram, “Thank you to all of the fans who have sent prayers and condolences on behalf of Yella Beezy, He is currently in stable condition and will make a speedy recovery 🙏🏽 We appreciate your continued support and ask that you keep him in your prayers and respect his family’s privacy at this time.”
A motive for the shooting is currently unknown, however, many are suggesting that the shooting is in connection to the shooting death of comedian Roylee Pate – who Beezy had beef with. On Saturday, Pate died from complications after a blood clot formed in his lung.
A Twitter user admits to overhearing a conversation about retaliation against Beezy for Pate’s death, “when I was in the shop yesterday we was talkin bout roylee pate dyin due to that blood clot from gettin shot and the next thing a nigga said was his ppl was gon retaliate on yella beezy…its the next day and look what happened.”
