Bobby Shmurda isn’t going down without a fight! On Friday, the 21 year old “Hot N*gga” rapper and civil rights lawyer, Derek Sells, have filed a lawsuit against the New York Police Department for false arrest.

On June 3, 2014, Shmurda, born Ackquille Pollard, was spending time at a friends apartment in Brooklyn when cops knocked on the door before illegally entering the home. The lawsuit states, “When one of the occupants opened the door a slight bit to see who was there, Officer Douglas Corso and other police officers kicked in the door and illegally entered the residence without a search warrant.”

Pollard claims that the police completely ram-shacked the residence, all while taunting him by “chanting the lyrics to his chart-topping songs”. As a result of the arrest, Pollard claims he that he suffered “nervous shock and mental anguish”. During the search, police found drug paraphernalia, as well as a gun that they claim Pollard was trying to hide inside of a couch. Pollard denies the allegations, stating that neither the drugs or the gun belonged to him.

A few days ago, news broke that Pollard was released from prison on $2 million bail. However, his attorney, Alex Spiro, has confirmed to Vibe that Pollard “has not been released from jail”.

Pollard’s trial is expected to began on May 11.
