Bobby Shmurda has pled guilty.
It looks like Bobby Shmurda’s fight in court has come to an end. On Monday, Shmurda, born Ackquille Jean Pollard, appeared in New York Supreme Court where he accepted a plea deal from the prosecution – agreeing to serve seven years in prison.
According to the deal, Pollard pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and one count of criminal possession of a weapon. All of the other charges were dropped. Pollard’s legal team encouraged him to plead guilty instead of taking the case to trial since he was facing life in prison. The great news is that Pollard will be credited for the two years he has already served.
Pollard’s attorney, Alex Shapiro, released the following statement, “His sentence of 7 years, with credit for 2 years already served and good time credit will hopefully permit him to be home in approximately 3 1⁄2 years and resume his remarkable career. This plea also covers a separate Bronx Indictment.”
Following his release from prison, he will be on probation for 5 years.
