Birdman is facing another lawsuit.

Birdman is having a hard time paying up these days. Not only is Birdman being sued by Lil Wayne for $51 million, now his music label, Cash Money, is being sued for $3.3 million for unpaid sample royalties. The lawsuit comes only one week after Birdman signed a new deal with Apple Music.

The new lawsuits against Cash Money were filed by artists sampled by two songs: Lloyd’s “You” featuring Lil Wayne, and Glasses Malone’s “Certified” featuring Akon. In 2007, “You” peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, and samples “True” by the 1980’s British rock outfit Spandeau Ballet.

Bangladesh, who produced Weezy’s track “6 Foot 7 Foot”, has revealed in the past that Cash Money doesn’t pay their artists, “Cash Money don’t pay royalties. You have to sue these guys so that they pay up.. it’s [Wayne and Baby’s] responsibility to pay [me] because all the money from album sales goes to Cash Money.

I get checks from Sony for Beyonce, checks from different labels for different artists, it just comes to you. You don’t have to call them, sue them and all that junk. This is what you’re owed.”
