Legendary rapper, Big Syke, has passed away.

Monday night, rapper Big Syke, born Tyruss Himes, 48, passed away. Syke, who was Tupac’s longtime friend and collaborator, was found dead in his Hawthorne, California home.

First, police responded to a call from his home, which was followed by the Los Angeles County Coroner – who confirmed Sykes’ death. Authorities don’t suspect any foul play, and believe that he most likely he died from natural causes. However, an autopsy will be performed. Syke reportedly had a history of heart issues and obesity.

In addition to being a member of Tupac’s Thug Life Group, and one of the original members of the Outlawz, Syke has appeared on a number of Tupac tracks including “All Eyez on Me”, “Picture Me Rollin”, “Check Out Time”, and “When We Ride.”

Years back, Syke reflected on how meeting Tupac changed his life, “I met him actually through a guy named Surge. And Surge brought him to the hood … Surge use to play my music, so [Tupac] liked my music, so we started hanging out, and after that we became friends, and the next thing you know we were on tour.”
