Last night, was quite victorious for Queen Bey. During the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Beyonce made history! Bey took home 8 moonmen – making her the most awarded artist in VMA history, surpassing Madonna’s 20 moonmen. In all, Beyonce has racked in a total of 24 awards.
Besides winning a slew of awards, Bey also graced the stage for a 10 minute performance of tracks off of her highly acclaimed “Lemonade” album. Later into the night, Bey’s controversial song, “Formation”, won 6 awards – Best Pop Video, Best Direction, Best Choreography, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and the award that everyone hopes to win – Video of the Year.
Bey’s other two VMAs were for Best Female Video (“Hold Up”), and Best Long-Form Video (“Beyonce: Lemonade”).
