Bobby Shmurda is currently still locked up facing over 100 drug and weapon charges. While he sits in his cell, Epic Records are making a countless amount of money off of him. However, they are not doing much to help Shmurda get out of his current situation. His bail is set at a whopping 2 million dollars, and Epic Records hasn’t coughed up a penny. Therefore,Bobby is going to do what it takes to get off the label once he gets out of jail.
Shmurda recently interviewed with New York times and stated, “I’m going to try my best to go back on the deal” a angry Bobby told reporters. He continued,”If not, I’ll give them their music and bounce.”
Shumrda’s lawyer Matthew Middleton also gave his thoughts on the woes between the label stating, “These companies for years have capitalized and made millions and millions of dollars from kids in the inner city portraying their plight to the rest of the world. To take advantage of that and exploit it from a business standpoint and then turn your back is disingenuous, to say the least,” he also stated EPIC Records “made their money back at least two or three times over“.
Shmurda was arrested on December 17, 2014 along with a slew of other Gs9 members, and has been jailed since.
