Bathed in the flashing lights brought by fame and fortune, Gotit’s latest trap banger details a paper chase unlike no other. When you come from nothing, the hustle is different. From missing out on love while in pursuit of financial freedom, to becoming desensitized to violence by way of hitting licks, ‘What It Was’ is unapologetically forthright.
Since the release of Gotit’s Hood Baby 2 mixtape, the rising star has shown much promise as one of his city’s more distinctive talents. With a series of successful videos to follow the tape’s release, the Atlantan rapper’s artistic evolution is ushering in a new sound in rap.
