J.Cole’s Politically Charged New Single Addresses Activism And Police Brutality

J.Cole pens introspective new record titled ‘Snow On Tha Bluff’.

Which may be the furthest thing from Curtis Snow’s fictitious film, the Dreamville honcho returns from his musical hiatus to shed light on the current state of the world and all its pandemonium.

Evocative prose and forward-thinking mentions permeate the void of momentary silence that echoes throughout ‘Snow On Tha Bluff’, while brittle strums of guitar accompaniment provide refuge for Cole’s critical analysis of self as he struggles with feeling like he hasn’t done enough.

The song is imbued with political undertone that alludes to a “young lady” who addresses systematic racism through shared discourse. Social media has transcended the power that arises from opinion-based rhetoric and how information is perceived to be true.

While it’s easy to speculate controversy from a surface level deconstruction of Cole’s recent narrative, it seems like the North Carolina native would rather broaden his depth of understanding for the unknown.

There’s a young lady out there, she way smarter than me / I scrolled through her timeline in these wild times and I started to read / She mad at these crackers, she mad at these capitalists, mad at these murder police / She mad at my n***as, she mad at our ignorance, she wear her heart on her sleeve / She mad at the celebrities, low-key I be thinkin’ she talkin’ ’bout me,” Cole admits on the new track.

With Twitter in a frenzy after a rough analysis of Jermaine’s soliloquy, he decided to take matters into his own hands and clarify things for listeners through a series of tweets.
